Albert Heslop Memorial Travel Bursary

SunRISE Mapping and Research is pleased to call for applications from horticulturalists and primary producers from the Murray Valley for the Albert Heslop Memorial Travel Bursary for 2015-2016. The bursary is for applicants aged between 18 and 40 who want to advance themselves, their enterprise and their industry.

The Albert Heslop Memorial Travel Bursary was established by the Murray Darling Foundation in memory of Albert Heslop, a state Viticulturist, councillor of Swan Hill and Life Member of the Murray Darling Association. Continuing operation of the Bursary transferred to SunRISE Mapping & Research in early 2015.

Albert Heslop was always motivated to assist in developing primary production and market opportunities in the Murray Valley region, particularly to introduce new crops, develop the skill base of industry members and support emerging or developing enterprises.

Applicants for the travel bursary are sought from the NSW shires of Wakool, Balranald, Central Darling and Wentworth, and Victorian shire of Gannawarra and rural cities of Swan Hill and Mildura.

Applicants should propose an interesting itinerary that will enhance their experience, motivate them to personally achieve, and develop their capacity to be involved in and contribute to their industry group and their region.

The bursary is sponsored by local organisations, enabling young farmers to apply their ideas to the future of farming. The travel bursary has been generously funded by Murray Mallee Training, the Murray Valley Winegrape Industry Development Committee and Minter Magic.

Application forms for the Albert Heslop Travel Bursary are available on the SunRISE website or can be requested via email
